AttractionOtherMuzeum w BrodnicyBrodnicaAbout the city
Brodnica is the largest town in the Brodnica Lake District and one of the most beautiful towns in Poland. It lies in the Drwęca valley, at the junction of two landscape parks, and has almost 28 thousand inhabitants.
The first mention of Brodnica dates back to 1262, and the town received city rights in 1298. Its coat of arms features an open right hand. It returned to Poland in 1920 and has over 720 years of history, visible at every step of the Old Town: in the remains of the medieval town hall, the Chełmińska Gate, the Masurian Gate Tower, the parish church, the ruins of the Teutonic castle with its tower, the Renaissance granary and the Palace of Anna Wazówna.
The Drwęca flows through the center — a kayaking route runs through the town itself. In summer, Lake Niskie Brodno with its city beach is an attraction, and cultural events take place here throughout the year. Treat yourself to peace and be enchanted by Brodnica.
