Smugi Guest House – year-round house for 6 people

The name Smugi comes from the beautiful sunsets and, above all, from the local term for the steep, damp meadows between the hills.

Smugi Guest House is a six-person, standalone house in Lipowiec in the Brodnica Lake District. The year-round, brick building has electric heating and a stylish wood-burning stove of the "chrystek" type.

Upstairs: two cozy bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers and a spacious corridor leading to a large balcony. On the ground floor: an open living room with a kitchenette that opens onto a terrace with a large table, a small library with good books, plenty of art on the walls and good Wi-Fi. Around the house there is a large yard with a fire pit, a playground and direct access to the forest, and right beyond the fence there is a safe, over 20-km bike path run along the route of the former railway line.

The house stands on a shared yard with the hosts, who are happy to help. On site you can order a breakfast basket with local products (PLN 70 per day) and rent kayaks – the Drwęca River is right next door. The hosts run the Wybudowania Foundation for Landscape Initiatives and professionally work with local heritage and nature – they are happy to advise or guide you around the area.

Nearby: Brodnica Landscape Park with wild beaches and bike routes, the Skarlanka, Drwęca and Wel rivers, Kurza Góra ski centre, Kurzętnik (3 km), Nowe Miasto Lubawskie (8 km), Lake Nielbark (2.5 km), Drwęca River nature reserve (500 m).
